A Red-necked Grebe came out of the river & pitched in offshore but it didn't take long to loose it amongst the waves on a choppy sea. Going south 35 Brent, 22 Red-throated Diver, 18 Teal, 14 Common Scoter, 6 Wigeon, 5 Shelduck, 4 Grey Plover, 2 Pintail & Oyk plus going north 31 Red-throated Diver, 8 Brent & 4 Guillemot. Several Red-throats pitched in offshore as did a Great-crested Grebe. 10 Snow Buntings are still with us & a Woodcock flushed in the observatory compound is indicative of colder weather somewhere. Time to go home & thaw out as a bit of a wind chill this morning.
